Annapurna Sanctuary Trek – 14 Days

Upon reaching Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will assist you with your accommodation. Rest at your hotel and in the evening, enjoy a delightful welcome dinner featuring excellent Nepalese cuisine.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. Visit Durbar Square with its old temples and Newari architecture. Explore Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar. Next, visit Swayambhunath Stupa, an ancient Buddhist stupa with a stunning view of the valley. Then, proceed to Pashupatinath Temple, a significant Hindu temple along the Bagmati River. Lastly, visit Bouddhanath, one of the world's largest Buddhist stupas. Return to your accommodation and attend a brief orientation about the trek.

After breakfast, take a short flight to Pokhara, enjoying breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. From Pokhara, drive for about 1.5 hours to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. Begin by crossing lush woodlands and a bridge to Birethanti village. Proceed along the forested trail, passing Sudami village and ascending to Hille. Finally, climb a series of stairs to reach Ulleri at 2050m.

Ascend through deep wilderness on well-maintained stone stairs, enjoying splendid views of landscapes, jungles, waterfalls, villages, and snow-capped mountains. Ghorepani, at 2874 meters, is an ancient stop for caravans. Rest and witness majestic sunset views of Annapurna South and Nilgiri.

Early morning, hike to Poon Hill, a top vantage point in the Annapurna region. Enjoy incredible views of more than 20 mountains, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. Then, head to Tadapani through sub-tropical woodlands, passing settlements and river networks. Experience friendly interactions with locals and witness breathtaking sunset views of Annapurna South and Fishtail.

Descend through wet rhododendron forests, hemlock, fir, and blue pine. Cross a suspension bridge and ascend a steep section to Komrong village. Then, descend to Chhomrong, nestled below Annapurna. Enjoy sunset views of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, and Mardi Himal, with the peaks changing colors.

After breakfast, descend 2500 stone steps and cross Chhomrong Khola. Traverse uphill to lower and upper Sinuwa. Enjoy views of Machhapuchhre through the dense canopy and the ridge of the Mardi trek. Reach Bamboo village after passing through dense wilderness.

Start the trek through the cold bamboo forest with a steep ascent. Leave the tree line behind, trek through dry landscapes with shrubs, and follow the riverbed. Reach Hinku Cave, a natural shelter for trekkers. Continue to Deurali, where the valley widens, offering views of rivers, cliffs, and waterfalls.

Climb gently through the riverbed and steep mountainside to reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Enjoy stunning views of Machhapuchhre and adjacent snow-capped peaks. Himchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, Gangapurna, and more. Witness icefalls, glaciers, and moraines. Rest at the base camp and enjoy grand sunset views and stargazing in the evening.

Wake up early for a glorious sunrise view over the snow-capped peaks. Descend from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo, passing settlements and lush forests. Rest at a tea house and explore the area.
