Everest Base Camp Trek & Fly Back By Helicopter – 8 Days

The flight into Nepal is breathtaking with views of endless rows of mountains and lush hills. Once you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport and are done with your immigration formalities, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our representative from the Everest Dreams who will drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own.

Start your Everest journey by catching an early morning flight to Lukla, a scenic Sherpa hamlet. Upon arrival at Lukla airstrip, meet your trekking guide and the rest of your crew. After organizing your belongings and packing your rucksacks, begin your trekking adventure.

Follow the trail as it descends through the Chauri Kharka settlement and reaches the Dudh Koshi River. Enjoy the picturesque path along the river's bank, which will lead you to Phakding, a charming Sherpa village nestled in the lush Dudh Koshi Valley at an elevation of 2,610 meters. Along the way, you'll pass by Khumbila, a sacred peak revered by Sherpas, which remains unclimbed due to its significance.

Take some time to explore Phakding village, interact with the locals, and immerse yourself in their rich culture and traditions. Don't forget to visit one of the cafés for a warm beverage. Spend the night in Phakding, ready for the next leg of your journey.

Today's destination is Namche Bazaar, also known as the "Sherpa capital." The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing famous suspension bridges like the Hillary Suspension Bridge. Passing through Monjo and the Sagarmatha National Park entry, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas.

Ascending uphill, prepare for the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Everest from Tope Danda. Namche Bazaar offers a vibrant atmosphere with bakeries, cafés, shops, and even an ATM. Don't miss the renowned Saturday Market and take time to interact with the locals or hike to vantage points for stunning Himalayan views. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

After breakfast, begin your trek by following a rugged trail that ascends through stone-paved stairs. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking vistas of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Mt. Everest. Traverse through a mysterious jungle, crossing the Phunki Tenga River on a suspension bridge. As the path zig-zags uphill, you'll reach the picturesque village of Tengboche. Check into your tea house and explore the area.

Tengboche, situated at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers, holds historical significance as the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the first person to summit Mt. Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary. The village is predominantly inhabited by Buddhist Sherpas and boasts the region's oldest monastery.

Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, situated at an elevation of 3,860m/12,661ft. This magnificent monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, is the largest in the entire Khumbu region. Built in the early 1900s, it features stunning sculptures, artwork, and intricate wood carvings. Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere as monks chant sacred texts and prayers, invoking the gods. Explore the monastery and experience the essence of Tibetan Lamaism against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayan mountain chain.

Enjoy an overnight stay in Tengboche, surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the Himalayas.

Ascend through a wilderness of birch, conifer, and rhododendron forests, soaking in magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Traverse the trail, passing through Debuche and crossing the Imja River. Take the upper Pangboche trail, marveling at the grandeur of Pangboche Monastery against the rugged mountains.

Continue through the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche. Enjoy the settlement's vantage points with stunning mountain vistas. Rest and overnight in Dingboche.

Embark on today's trek, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas. As you approach Dusa, the valley starts to narrow, and along the way, you'll pass the historic site of the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953. Enjoy glimpses of Mt. Pumori before descending to Duglha, a charming settlement adorned with prayer flags.

Ascend towards the steep ridge of the Khumbu Glacier, reaching Chupki Lhara with its breathtaking mountain vistas and memorial shrines for climbers who lost their lives on Mt. Everest.

Traverse the Khumbu Glacier moraine, encountering stunning peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, Mahalangur Himal, and Mt. Nuptse. Finally, arrive at the village of Lobuche for an overnight stay.

Today is the highly anticipated day for reaching Everest Base Camp. While not overly challenging, the trail involves navigating a glacier and rugged sections with meandering paths. As you approach base camp, marvel at the rounded ice towers and intricate melt patterns of the Khumbu glacier.

Enjoy breathtaking views of Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori mountains from the base camp before retracing your steps to Gorak Shep. After a short rest, embark on a thrilling helicopter ride to Lukla, offering a unique perspective of the world's highest mountain ranges. Upon landing, celebrate your final day in the mountains at your tea house in Lukla.

Today you'll board an early morning flight to Kathmandu. You may rest or do souvenir shopping after you arrive in Kathmandu. In the evening, join in for a special farewell dinner to mark the successful conclusion of your adventure with your trekking guide and our representative.
